Tamarine Tanasugarn was born on the 24th of May 1977 in Los Angeles, California, USA and she is a tennis player who resides in Bangkok, Thailand.
Biography and career :
She started playing tennis when she was a child and in 1994 she turned a professional tennis player.
Since then she has won one WTA single title, ten ITF single titles, five WTA doubles titles and three ITF doubles titles.
Even though she is not tall she has power.
On the 13th of May 2002 she was ranked on the 19th position of Top 100, which is her highest position in this top until now.
In February 2003 came her first and only WTA single title. It was happening at Hyderabad in India, and her opponent in the final was Iroda Tulyaganova. The match ended with the score 6-4, 6-4.
Between 1996 and 2006 she pl
ayed another six final at Pattaya City in 1996, Birmingham in 2000, Tokyo in 2001, Canberra in 2002, Doha in 2002 and Bangkok in 2006. Monica Seles beat her in the final of the tournaments in Tokyo and Doha.
The doubles titles were conquered at Auckland where her partner was Miyagi, at Shanghai with Osterloh, at Bali with Dominikovic and at Tokyo and Luxembourg with Maria Sharapova.
In 2002 she has played into the third round at the French Open.
The fourth round was reached in 1998 at the Australian Open, in 2003 at the US Open and between 1998 and 2002 and 2004 at Wimbledon.
She has won over two million dollars just from tennis.
