Achmed Sukarno (1901-1970) was an Indonesian nationalist, president 1945-1967.
Short Biography:
During World War II he cooperated in the local administration set up by the Japanese, replacing Dutch rule. After the war he became the first president of the new Indonesian republic, becoming president-for-life in 1966; he was ousted by Suharto.
