
Steve Perry was born in Hanford, California, U.S. on January 22, 1949 to father Raymond Perry who was a vocalist and mother Mary. Steve Perry is known as being the lead vocalist of the band Journey, singer and songwriter.
The Sam Cooke song Cupid inspired Steve to become a singer at the age or 10. He attended high school in Lemoore, California and after that College of the Sequoias in Visalia, California.
Career
His career started very well being the lead vocalist of the band Journey. He performed nine of Journey’s Albums: Infinity, Evolution, Departure, Dream, After Dream, Captured, Raised on Radio and Trial by Fire. The most successful song of Journey and Steve Perry’s was Open Arms; it was rising for six weeks. In 1994 Steve leaved Journey and tried a solo career.
His solo albums enjoyed some success but none compared with the one that he has with Journey.
As a recognizing of his career, Steve Perry reached rake 76 in Rolling Store Magazine’s 100 Greatest Singers of all time. He can perform instruments like: drums, piano, guitar and bass.
In 1996 Journey tried a regroup to do a new studio recording and also go for a tour. This plan couldn’t get realized because Steve Perry discovered a degenerative hip condition and he had to do a surgery.
Steve Perry dream was to have a solo career but his songs have not enjoyed the same success as that enjoyed with the band Journey. The fame that he was the lead vocalist of Journey fallowed him all his life.
