Stéphanie Cohen-Aloro was born on the 18th of March 1983 in Paris, France and she is a tennis player.
Biography and career :
As a junior player she had a great season in 1998. After one year she suffered some injuries and almost the entire year was missed.
In 2000 she played two semi-finals at two ITF tournaments and in 2001 she won a single title at Bangkok and a doubles title in Madrid.
In October 2001 she became a professional tennis player.
Since then she has won five ITF single tournaments and nine ITF doubles tournaments and no WTA tournament.
In 2002 she played at the French Open but unfortunately for her Mirjana Lucic from Croatia eliminated her in the first round.
The next year she had some important victories, the first one over Anna Pistolesi in Paris and anoth
er one over Tatiana Panova in Tokyo.
In 2003 she participated for the first time at a WTA tournament. It was happening in Estoril and in the first round she beat Maria Kirilenko and then Maria Sanchez Lorenzo. She was stopped in the quarter-finals by Magui Serna.
She participated again in 2003 at the French Open and this time reached the second round but was eliminated by Patty Schnyder.
In the same year she played the first round at Wimbledon and the second round at the US Open.
Another great victory came in 2005 at Miami where she beat Daniela Hantuchova and at Australian open where beat Mary Pierce in the first round. Unfortunately she was eliminated in the second round.
In 2006 she won the title at Biarritz.
