Stephane Mallarme (1842-1898) was a French poet who founded the Symbolist school with Verlaine.
Short Biography:
His belief that poetry should be evocative and suggestive was reflected in L'Apres-midi d'un faune/Afternoon of a Faun in 1876, which inspired Debussy.
Later publications are Poesies completes/ Complete Poems in 1887, Vers et prose/Verse and Prose in 1893, and the prose Divagations/ Digressions in 1897.
