Stefan Koubek was born on the 2nd of January 1977 in Klagenfurt, Austria. He is a professional tennis player and resides in Vienna.

Biography and Career :

Gunther Bresnik is his coach in the present.
He liked tennis and started playing it and in 1994 turned a professional tennis player.
Until now he has won three ATP single tournaments and one ATP doubles tournaments, but no Grand Slam title.
In 1999 at the tournament in Atlanta he conquered his first title after beating in the final Sebastien Grosjean.
The other two titles came in 2000 and 2002 at the tournaments in Delray Beach and Doha, both on hard. He fought in the finals with players like Alex Calatrava from Spain and Jan-Michael Gambill from the United States.
In 2001, 2006 and 2007 he played another three finals b ut lost them all. The finals were at Bournemouth where lost to Adrian Voinea, Zagreb where lost to Ivan Ljubièiæ and Chennai where lost to Xavier Malisse.
His first and only doubles title until now was won in Kitzbühel and his partner was Philipp Kohlschreiber.
In 2000 and between 2002 and 2004 he played into the second round at Wimbledon.
The third round at a Grand Slam tournament was reached in 2004 at the US Open and the fourth at the French Open in 1999.
His best performance at a Grand Slam event remains the quarter-final he played in 2002 at the Australian Open.
In 2007 he was a quarter-finalist at Memphis and semi-finalist at Durban.
As a doubles player he reached the semi-finals of the tournament in Munich along Rochus and at Sunrise along Marach.
He has talent and the way his is training and fights may bring him titles in the future.
