Stanislas Wawrinka was born on the 28th of March 1985 in Lausanne, Switzerland and he is a professional tennis player.
Biography and Career :
He resides now in St. Barthelemy, Switzerland and his coach is Dimitri Zavialoff.
Since he has started playing as a child he was great and in 2002 he became a professional tennis player.
Until now he has won only one WTA single title and none doubles titles or Grand Slam tournaments.
His only WTA single tournament was won at Umag in July 2006 against Novak Djokovic, who retired.
In 2003 he won two Challengers, one at San Benedetto against Salvador Navarro and the other at Geneva against Emilio Benfele Alvarez.
2004 came with another two Challenger titles. In April he faced Kristof Vliegen in the final of the tournament in Barcelona
and in August Christophe Rochus in the final of the tournament in Geneva.
Gastón Gaudio beat him in the final of the tournament in Gstaad in 2005 and Rafael Nadal in the final of the tournament in Stuttgart in 2007.
At all the grand Slam tournaments he reached the third round but every time stopped there.
In 2005 and 2006 he had that performance at the US Open, in 2005 at Roland Garros, in 2006 at Wimbledon and in 2007 at the Australian Open.
As a junior player he won the French Open in 2003.
He has Czech German and Swiss origins because his father is a German and his mother a Swiss. Their names are Wolfram and Isabelle Wawrinka.
He has one brother, Jonathan, and two sisters, Djanaee and Naella. They all play tennis or teach tennis.
He is a player who has talent and maybe soon we will see him very high in Top 100.
