John Tenniel (1820-1914) was a British illustrator and cartoonist, known for his illustrations for Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland in 1865 and Through the Looking-Glass in 1872.
He joined the satirical magazine Punch in 1850, and for over 50 years he was one of its leading cartoonists.
