Henry George Wakelyn Smith (1787-1860) served in the Peninsular War. Short Biography:
Subsequently he fought in South Africa and India, and was governor of Cape Colony 1847-1852. The towns of Ladysmith and Harrismith, South Africa, are named after his wife and himself respectively.
