Biography and Career:

Lumet is such a director who is famous for his ability to make at least one movie in every year since he has started his career as a director in the year 1957. He has been described as an excellent director because of his ability to direct actors in a wonderful way, his style of storytelling, and his command over using the camera in the best way.

He was a social critic in a sense his movies were powerful depiction of the corruption and injustice prevalent in the society mainly among the police. He was t he pioneer director of Neorealist tradition and he was dedicated to his ethical responsibility of bringing forth the injustice prevalent in the society.

He was a successful director and he got success as a TV Director. His first movie that was released in the year of 1957 is "12 Angry Man" which is a master class movie of acting and directing. It was always considered as a problem film and since then he has always made film centering round other idealistic problems. For his extraordinary contribution achievement in the filed of TV and movie directions for the last half of the century he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Academy Awards in the year 2005.

He was married to Rita Gam, the actresss , his second wife was Gloria Vanderbilt, his third wife was Gail Jones and his fourth wife is Mary Gimbel whom he married in 1980.
