Shauna Robertson was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, but she grew up on a farm outside Markham, Ontario. Her father used to teach hand gliding and her mother was a yoga teacher. When she was 16 years old she dropped out from high school. After dropping out from high school she shifted to Los Angeles, California. She worked as an assistant to Mike Binder, whom she met at Camp Tamakwa. She has worked for Hart Bochner, Jay Roach and Adam McKay.
