Shalim was born in Puerto Rico beginning his career in the TV show called Los Angelitos. Besides this, the modeling made him a famous person.

His acting career took off beginning with theater, including the main role in the musical cabaret Rocio in Spite of It All.

The most important TV shows or movies are: Spin (for which he also sang the title song on the soundtrack), Lizzie McGuire, S-Club 7, Engaged and Guardian. He will appear in the upcoming films Art of Travel and Yuniol.

Shalim dated Amelia Vega and amongst other amorous encounters was Leslie Ann Machado.
