Biography and Career
Sarah Shahi's real life name is Aahoo Jahansouz born and raised in Texas but with Spanish and Iranian descent. Her father is Abbas Shahi who is an Iranian while her mother Mahmonir is Spanish.
Sarah's great-great grandfather is Fath Ali Shah Qajar, the 19th Century Iranian king. After her parents got divorced, she chose to live with her mother. She studied secondary education at Trinity High School and attended college at Southern Methodist University with major in English and Opera.
Her career began in simple ways. During her teen years, Sarah won the title of Ms. Forth Worth USA in 1997 pageant. In 1999-2000 she became a member of the
Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and even posed on its 2000 Swimsuit calendar cover.
Sarah was an extra in the Dr. T and the Women where she met Robert Altman a director that encouraged her that she has the potential to move in Hollywood. After moving to Los Angeles in 2000, she was luckily given the chance to appear in different well-known series like Dawson's Creek as Sadia Shaw, Alias as Jenny and in Supernatural.
She became more popular when she portrayed the role of Carmen de la Pica Morales a Mexican-American DJ in the second season of the series 'The L Word' by Showtime. After her notable role, she has decided not to renew the contract with them but she still appeared on its last episode.
Still on television, Sarah starred in the second season of 'Sleeper Cell' as Farah, 'The Sopranos' of HBO, 'Kennedy and Heidi' as the college stripper Sonya Aragon and 'Life' of NBC.
In November 2009 she began to do the film 'Facing Kate' where she played the lead role. Just recently, Sarah made guest appearance on 'Pschy' episode 'Thrill Seekers and Hell Raisers'.
