Ryan Seacrest (full name Ryan John Seacrest) was born on December 24, 1974, in Dunwoody, Georgia. He wanted to be a radio host from his childhood and got his first job in radio in 1990 in WSTR/Star 94-FM, Atlanta, as an intern. He is journalism major from the University of Georgia.
He first appeared on television during the middle of 1990s in shows like Wild Animal Games, Gladiators 2000, The New Edge and Click. He also got the offer for hosting the show “Ryan Seacrest for The Ride Home” on Star 98.7 in the year 1997. The show aired till 2003 and reached the top spot in its time slot.
In 2002, Ryan Seacrest was selected as a co-host of the reality show American Idol. With the success of American Idol, Seacrest soon became a household name across USA.
He also hosted the show American Juniors that year.
In the beginning of 2004, he began a talk show named On Air with Ryan Seacrest. But the show didn’t last long. Other programs which Ryan began hosting at that time were the weekly radio program “American Top 40” and as a morning host of KIIS-FM.
In April 2005, he co-hosted the show Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve and in 2006, E! Network signed him for a $21 million deal in 2006 for three years. In April 2006, he won a Daytime Emmy for 2005 Disney World Christmas Day Parade. He got a role in the movie Knocked Up in 2007 and was selected as the host of the Primetime Emmy Awards that year. During that month, he began hosting “The Entertainment Edge”, a radio program in the UK.
He also served as the executive producers for a couple of reality shows, Denise Richards: It’s Complicated and Momma’s Boy. Along with these, the Dick Clark show changed its name to Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest and Ryan’s contract with the show was extended till 2010.
