Ryan Gosling is a Canadian actor. He is best known for his role in the romantic drama “The notebook”. Born in London, Ontario, he was the son of Donna and Thomas Gosling.
His parents divorced when he was young and later on he was taken out of school and homeschooled because he was getting picked on in elementary school. His high school career ended just as abruptly when at the age of 17 he dropped out and moved to New Zealand to on the series “Young Hercules”.
His career as an actor began at the age of 12 when he went on the show “the Mickey Mouse Club”.
His breakout role cam later on, in 2001, when he played a fanatic neo-nazi in the drama “The Believer” and for which he received an Independent Spirit Awards nomination for “best male lead”. In 2004 he wen
t mainstream with his role in “The Notebook”.
In 2006 he got his first Oscar nomination for his role as “Best Leading Actor” in the independent drama “Half Nelson”. The next year he got nominated for the “Golden Globe” for his performance in “Lars and the Real Girl” . His second Golden globe nomination cam in 2010 for the independent drama Blue Valentine.
Aside from his work as an actor Ryan Gosling worked as a musician in the band he had formed with his friends “Dead Man's Bones”. Their first self-titled album was released in 2009 with the “ANTI-” recording label. Ryan Gosling was nominated as one of the 2010 GQ's men of the year as the “Contender of the Year”.
