Roberta Vinci was born on the 18th of February 1983 in Taranto, Italy. She is a professional tennis player.
Biography and Career :
She began her career in tennis when she was a child and in 1999 became a professional tennis player.
Until now she has won one WTA single title, eight ITF single titles, three WTA doubles titles and nine ITF doubles titles.
In February 2007 she won her first and the only WTA single title at Copa Colsanitas Seguros Bolivar on clay. She beat in the final Tathiana Garbin from Italy wit the score 6-7, 6-4, 0-3 and at that time the match was stopped because her opponent retired.
At the Grand Slam tournaments her performances are: the first round at the US Open in 2001, 2004, 2005 and 2006, also the first round at Roland Garros in 2004, 2005 and 2006,
the third round at Wimbledon in 2005 and the third round at the Australian Open in 2006.
She reached the quarter-finals at Eastbourne in 2004 and managed to beat in that match Anastasia Myskina.
Roberta, Mara Santangelo, Flavia Pennetta and Francesca Schiavone were part of the Fed Cup team and in 2006 they beat with 3-2 the Belgium team.
Until now she won almost one million dollars exclusively from tennis.
With a good game, hard training and concentration she has the ability to win many titles and be a great tennis player.
