Realdo Colombo

Realdo Colombo Matteo Realdo Colombo (c. 1516-1559) was an Italian anatomist who discovered pulmonary circulation, the process of blood circulating from the heart to the lungs and back.

Short Biography:

This showed that DGalen's teachings were wrong, and was of help to Harvey in his work on the heart and cirulation.

Colombo was a pupil of Vesalius, and became his successor at Padua.
