Radu Aldulescu - prose writer. Born on June 29th 1954 in Bucharest. After graduating from a theoretical secondary school in Bucharest in 1973, he worked in various places such as “Policolor” and “23 August” factories. “Casa Republicii” building site and “Universul” printing house in Bucharest.
He made his debut in print with prose in the literary and artistic supplement of “Scînteia tineretului” in 1986. His first publication in book form was the volume Sonata for Accordion / Sonată pentru acordeon (Albatros, 1993). He contributed to several literary reviews, such as: “România literară”, “Luceafărul”, “Contrapunct”, “Baricada”, “Caţavencu”, “România literară”, and “Art Panorama”.
Since his debut, he published
the following books: The Mounted Angel / Îngerul încălecat (Phoenix, 1994); The Death Cake Maker’s Lover / Amantul colivăresei (Nemira, 1994); The Story of the Heroes of a Green and Cool Land / Istoria eroilor unui ţinut de verdeaţă şi răcoare (Nemira, 1997).
He was awarded several literary prizes, such as: a prize for a first best book of the Writers’ Union in Romania (1993); an award for the best novel of the year of the Association of Publishing House Managers of Romania (1994); an award at the National Book Fair in Cluj Napoca (1994).
He is a member of the Writers’ Union in Romania and of the Association of Professional Writers in Romania - ASPRO.
