Rade Serbedzija was born on July 27, 1946 in Bunić, Lika, Croatia, Yugoslavia. He is a Croatian director, actor and musician.
Biography and Career:
Rade Serbedzija graduated in 1969 the Academy of Dramatic Arts of the University of Zagreb. After this he was hired by the Gavella theater and in Zagreb, at the Croatian National Theatre.
While he was a student, he played roles in theaters and films. His most important theater roles from that period were: Don Juan, Peer Gynt, Oedipus, Melkior Tresic, Hamlet, Richard III and Leone Glembay. Also he had some memorable roles in films like U gori raste zelen obor in 1971, Kiklop in 1982, Variola Vera in 1981, Zivot je lep in 1985 and some small roles in television shows: U registraturi in 1976, Nikola Tesla in 1977
or Prosjaci I sinovi in 1971.
Rade Serbedzija had some supporting roles in hoolywoodian productions like Mission Impossible II, The Saint, Mighty Joe Young, Euro Trip, Snatch, Eyes Wide Shut, Shooter, The Quiet American and Batman Begins.
He was also invited to some american television shows from BBC and NBC. His most successful last film was The Fog, where he interpreted Captain Black.
Currently, Rade Serbedzija directs and acts in most of the plays from a theater founded in 2000, named Ulysses Theater, along with Borislav Vujcic.
