Rachel McAdams was born on November 17, 1978 in London, Ontario, Canada to truck driver Lance and nurse Sandy.

Biography and Career :

At age of 10 she involved with a Theatre Company in London, appearing in classic productions like Shakespeare. At the at age of 13 she went on summer theater camp. McAdams had not planned to pursue acting beyond her high school graduation in 1997 after she went to York University in Toronto.

She made her first onscreen performance in "The Famous Jett Jackson" in 2001.

One of her big debut includes the role in The Hot Chick, but after that she got a role in the series "Slings and Arrows". Her role won her a Gemini Award and she got several other nominations.

After the series she got her first big movie role, the "bad" character from M ean Girls where she starred with Lindsay Lohan. Soon after that she became very popular in America and got only big roles like "Wedding Crashers" & "Red Eye".

One of her most apreciate role was the one from "The Notebook".

Thanked to those three movies Rachel became a famous actress and a mature one playing in "Married Life" & "The Lucky Ones".

In 2008 McAdams became one of the most expensive actresses from Hollywood, but the producers still wanted her. She starred in movies like "State of Play", "The Time Traveler's Wife", "Sherlock Holmes" and "Morning Glory".
