She married her third cousin, Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh in 1947. They have four children: Charles, Anne, Andrew, and Edward.
Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Mary was born in London April 21, 1926, educated privately, and assumed official duties at 16.
During World War II she served in the Auxiliary Territorial Senice, and by an amendment to the Regency Act she became a state counsellor on her 18th birthday.
On the death of George VI she succeeded to the throne while in Kenya with her husband. She is the richest woman in the world, with an estimated wealth of £5.3 billion.
