
Q-Tip was born on April 10, 1970 in Queens, New York, United States. He is an american rapper, producer, singer and actor.
Biography and Career:
Q-Tip is a part from a popular jazz hip hop group. He also does production along with Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Jay Dee, member of the Slum Duge band. He produced for Nas in 1994, the single from Illmatic, named One Love, for Mobb Deep the Give Up the Goods, Just Step song, Temperature's Rising and Drink Away the Pain in 1995, Honey for Mariah Carey and Fine for Whitney Houston. He also produced in 2003 the release Heartcore for Kurt Rosenwinkle.
The band from who he was a part, A Tribe Called Quest disbanded at the start of 1998 and he started a solo career. Q-Tip released his 1st solo singles Vivrant Thing and Breath
e and Stop with Arista Records. In 2002 he released a follow up titled Kamaal The Abstract, which had a lot of critics. On September 15, 2009 he released Amplified on Battery Records.
In 2006, A Tribe Called Quest has reunited but they played a limited number of dates. Soon after this, Q-Tip signed again a solo contract with Motown, Universal Records. His last album, The Renaissance was released on 4 November 2008. It won a nomination from the 2010 Grammys as the Best Rap Album.
