The Pussycat Dolls often abbreviated as PCD are typically an American pop/R&B girl group and dance group founded by the famous choreographer Robin Antin in the year 1995 as a travesty troupe based in Los Angeles.
Career:
After garnering a good amount of national attention, Antin soon negotiated a big money deal with the firm Interscope Records in the year 2003 turning the group into a music sensation. They comprise Nicole Scherzinger alongside Carmit Bachar, Melody Thornton, Jessica Sutta, Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt. They have never looked back since then and the group has developed a global image and a heavy commercial brand image managed by the man behind them, Antin, Interscope and many other partners diversifying into reality television programs, a Las Vegas act an

The band achieved Musical Success in the year 2005 with their first album titled “PCD” which started at number five in the USA featuring three hugely hit singles "Don't Cha", "Buttons", and "Stickwitu" that later earned them a Grammy Award nomination. Then Carmit Bachar left them in February 2008 but the group went on as a quintet and in September the same year, they came out with their second album called “Doll Domination”, featuring singles "When I Grow Up", "I Hate This Part" and "Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)" adapted from the OSCAR winning movie “Slumdog Millionaire”.
Throughout the path to fame, the dolls have been heavily criticized for their projection of a sexual image and very explicit dances. The group has also been under fire for the heavy focus on lead singer Nicole Scherzinger, who sings all lead vocals in the group. In late 2009 to early 2010 they announced a much needed hiatus mainly aimed at coming up with ideas for their third album and also to prepare meticulously for their next world tour. But it is now confirmed that members Jessica Sutta, Kimberly Wyatt, Ashley Roberts, Melody Thornton and Nicole Scherzinger have all left the group to pursue solo careers.
