Prince Charles (full name Charles Philip Arthur George), born in 1948, he is the Prince of the United Kingdom, heir to the British throne, and Prince of Wales since 1958 (invested 1969).
Short Biography:
He is the first-born child of Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh. He studied at-Trinity College, Cambridge, 1967-1970, before serving in the RAF and Royal Navy.
He is the first royal heir since 1659 to have an English wife, Lady Diana Spencer, daughter of the 8th Earl Spencer. They have two sons: Prince William, born in 1982, and Prince Henry, born in 1984. Amid much publicity, Charles and Diana separated 1992.
Prince Charles's concern for social and environmental issues has led to many self-help projects for the young and underprivileged, and he is a leading critic of unsympathetic features of contemporary architecture.
