Biography and Career:
Portia de Rossi was raised in a suburb of Geelong. While she was a child she was a model for prints and TV commercials. She changed her name legally when she was 15. She graduated the Melbourne Girls Grammar School and then she attends to the University of Melbourne Law School, but left it before graduation.
Portia de Rossi's first recurred rule was in 1994, when she obtained the role of a model in Sirens. After this she moved to Los Angeles and obtained short roles in some television shows and in Nick Freno: Licensed Teacher. She also got a role in Scream 2.
In 1998 she joined the international famous television series of Ally McBeal as lawyer Nelle Porter, role that she kept until in 2002, when the serial was ended.
In 2001, along with Christian Slater she appeared in Who is Cletis Tout? From 2003 to 2006, Portia de Rossi interpreted Lindsay Bluth Funke in Arrested Development, a criticized movie but Emmy awarded, produced by Fox Television. She also played the role of Carolyn Bessette Kennedy in America's Prince: John F. Kennedy Jr. Story from 2003. In 2005 she obtained a role in Cursed.
