Short Biography:
He envisaged humanity as eventually in charge of its own evolution, and developed the concept of the noosphere, the unconscious union of thought among human beings.
Born in the Puy-de-Deme, he entered the Society of Jesus in 1899, was ordained in 1911, and during World War I was a stretcher bearer, taking his final vows in 1918.
