Phoebe Cates was born on July 16, 1963 in New York City, U.S.A. She is an american actress and entrepreneur, well known from the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont Hight.

Biography and Career:

Phoebe Cates first started with a modeling career and only later she decided to try to act in films, because her father was also an actor. Her film debut was in 1981 in Paradise, which was released in 1982. When she was only 17, she made some nude scenes for a movie that was similar with The Blue Lagoon, which she regretted later.

In 1982, Phoebe Cates appeared in Fast Times at Ridgemont High and her nude scene was ranked by Mr. Skin as the most memorable bikini scene from the film history. Her later roles didn' encountered that much success as this even if she starred in som e important films like Seventeen or Tiger Beat. She had some off Broadway apparitions in Rich Relations, in 1985 at the Second Stage Theatre. She starred in another film in 1994, which was titled Princess Caraboo.

In 2001 she retired from acting to be able to raise her children in a good manner. Her last film was along with her husband, Kevin Kline and her two children, Greta Simone and Owen Joseph, and under the directions of her friend Jennifer Jason. The movie was named The Anniversary Party.
