Phil Anselmo was born on June 30, 1968 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is an american musician best known as the vocal from the heavy metal band Pantera.
Biography and Career:
Phil Anselmo released with Pantera 3 albums. He was co-opted in this heavy metal band as the replace of Terrence Lee, in 1987. In 1988 he recorded Power Metal, which was released in the same year under the Pantera's own label Metal Magic Records.
In 1990, Pantera recorded the second album with Phil Anselmo in its formula, and named it Cowboys from Hell. They also started a long international tour which provided images for their 1st home video Cowboys from Hell: The Videos, from 1991.
N 1992, Phil Anselmo registered his 3rd album with Pantera, which was named Vulgar Display of Power and
a promo with 4 songs. In 1994 they released Far Beyond Driven that reached the number 1 position in tops.
Two years later, another album was released and named The Great Southern Trendkill. Their live album Official Live: 101 Proof was released in 1997. In 2003, they made a best of and titled it The Best of Pantera: Far Beyond the Great Southern Cowboys' Vulgar Hits! (Reinventing Hell: The Best of Pantera in Europe).
Currently, Phil Anselmo is playing in a band named Down.
