Petre Roman was born on July 22, 1946 in Bucharest, Romania. He is a politician in the Romanian Parliament and Senate and was the Prime Minister of Romania between 1989 and 1991.
Biography and Career :
His father was one of the organizers of the "Security" in Romania in 1944.
He is now (2007) the president of the Democratic Force Party in Romania and has an active political life.
Until recently he was married to Mioara Roman, which was older than he and they have two daughters, Catinca and Oana.
Regarding his profession he is an engineer.
Between 1990 and 1996 he was a member of the Deputies' Room and even the president of the Defending Committee for four years, until 1996.
He was the president of the Senate between 1996 and 1999 and after that he was a member o
f the Senate until 2000.
On December 22, 1999 he was named a State and External Business Minister, but he had that function only until December 2000.
