Peter Forsberg was born on July 20, 1973 in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden. He is a Swedish professional ice hockey centre from the Modo Hockey team.
Biography and Career:
Peter Forsberg comes from a family with tradition in ice hockey, because his father was the former coach of the Modo Hockey and of the Swedish national team.
He also coached his son for a long time from his career: 3 years, since 1991 for Modo Hockey, in 1996 for the World Cup of Hockey and in 1998 for Olympic ice hockey tournament and for the World Championship from 1998, which had Sweden as winner.
Peter Forsberg won also some titles, without the coaching of his father. He bought some racing horses, like Tsar d'Inverne and Adrian Chip, which had remarkable results.
He debuted in ice h
ockey in 1989, with the help of his father, in the junior team of Modo Hockey. In the same season he also debuted with the senior team in a high level professional ice hockey league, Elitserien. He returned to his debut team from 2005.
He had a surgery at his left wrist that didn' let him play for all the 50 regular season games with Modo Hockey. Despite this he scored 39 points in those 33 games, with 13 goals and 26 assists. His average in 2007- 2008 season was 1.56 PPG, which placed him right in the top of the league.
