Peng Shuai was born on January 8, 1986 in Hunan, China. She is a young talented tennis player.
Biography and Career :
When she was eight years old she started playing tennis and in 2001 she became a professional tennis player. Her parents' names are Peng Jijun and Zhang Bing and the father is a police officer. Since she turned pro she has won eight ITF single tournaments and three ITF doubles tournaments.
In 2002 she participated at the tournament at Bombay. Her opponent in the final was Sunitha Rao and Peng managed to beat her. She played the final at New Delhi against Eva Birnerova, but lost. Before that she had beated players like Aiko Nakamura and Sybille Bammer.
At the tournament in Jackson she made a great appearance and defeated Rika Fujiwara, Tatiana Golovin and
Christina Wheeler. She was the winner of the title. In 2004 she played another final, this time in Columbus, Ohio. Nicole Vaidisova was her opponent in the final and the one who won the trophy.
She continued playing and recording successes and has won until now over 700.000 dollars only from tennis. At the Grand Slam tournaments her performances are: first round at the US Open in 2005 and 2006, second round at Roland Garros in 2005 and 2006, second round in 2005 at the Australian Open and third round at Wimbledon in 2006.
Many say she is a talented girl and with hard training and being serious she could become a great champion.
