
Paul Franklin Watson was born on Saturday, December 02, 1950. He was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to Anthony Joseph Watson and Annamarie Larsen. He is a Canadian animal rights and environmental activist. He is also the founder and the president of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, a direct action group which is devoted to marine conservation.
Biography and Career:
He was born in Canada but brought up in St. Andrews, New Brunswick.He worked as a tour guide at Expo 67, the World's Fair that took place in Montreal in 1967, after which he "rode the rails" in boxcars west to Vancouver.
He joined the Canadian Coast Guard, where he worked aboard weather ships, search and rescue hovercraft, and buoy tenders during the early 1970s. In 1969 He was signed up as a merchant sea
man with the Norwegian Consulate in Vancouver and shipped out on the 35,000 ton bulk carrier Bris as a deck hand. He joined a Sierra Club protest against nuclear testing at Amchitka Island In October 1969. The group was formed as a result of the protest "Don't Make a Wave Committee", which evolved into the group known today as Greenpeace. He sailed as a crew member aboard the Greenpeace Too! ship in 1971 and skippered the Greenpeace boat Astral in 1972.
He was arrested on charges of actions against Spanish and Cuban fishing boats. He was convicted by a Norwegian court on charge of sinking a Norwegian boat and sentenced to 120 days in jail in 1997.
He is currently single and has one child who was born in 1980 to his first wife, Starlet Lum, a founder and director of Greenpeace Quebec, Earthforce!, Project Wolf, and Sea Shepherd. Lisa DiStefano is his second wife who was a former Playboy model and Sea Shepherd's Director of Operations during the Makah anti-whaling campaigns in Friday Harbor and Allison Lance is his third wife, who is an animal rights activist and a volunteer crew member of the Sea Shepherd.

Why is Paul Watson Famous?
He is famous primarily because of his sea shepherd convention society. The first Sea Shepherd vessel, the Sea Shepherd, was purchased in December 1978 with assistance from Fund for Animals. Sea Shepherd soon established itself as one of the more controversial environmental groups, known for provocative direct action tactics. These tactics have included throwing objects onto the decks of whaling ships, the use of "prop foulers" in an attempt to sabotage the ships, boarding whaling vessels, and the scuttling of two ships in an Icelandic harbor.
