Paola Rey (full name Paola Andrea Rey) was born on December 19, 1979 in Bucaramanga, Colombia. She is a famous Colombian actress and television personality.
Biography and Career :
Paola Rey never imagined that her life would change due to a casting she attended five years ago. She participated in some tests at RTI, a colombian TV Production Company. Two days later Paola Rey received a call informing her that, in spite of her lack of acting skills, she was selected to work in the soap opera "Fuego Verde" (1998).
Paola Rey was amazed and so were her family because of her lack of experience and references in drama. Since then Paola Rey started to take drama courses, looking forward to improve her performance.
Paola Rey left her industrial engineering career at La Sabana University and spent time on her acting career. In the end of the year Paola Rey was rewarded with a TV & Novelas Award (a Latin American showbiz publication) as best female breakthrough performance.
In 1998 Paola Rey cast in another soap opera: 'Castillo de Naipes'. The same year she got a role in 'Corazon Prohibido'. The following year Paola Rey signed a contract with Cenpor TV Colombia for another role in "Por que Diablos?" (1999). That was the time when Paola Rey also auditioned for a new role for Caracol TV Colombia, and got the leading rol as Fabiola in "Baby Sister, La" (2000). The soap opera became a success, after 'Yo soy Betty La Fea', in Colombia and abroad.
