Career and Biography:
Paloma is the youngest daughter of famed 20th-century artist Pablo Picasso and painter and writer Frani§oise Gilot. Paloma is a Spanish name and it means "dove" in Spanish and she is bearing the legacy of her father's design of dove as International peace symbol in International peace Conference at Paris in the same year when she was born. Paloma now lives at Lausanne, Switzerland.
Paloma's career as a jewelry designer began when she was working c
ostume designer in Paris in the year of 1968. Paloma designed some rhinestone necklaces that sought positive attention from critics and she got herself enrolled for a jewelry course. Soon she got invitation from Yves Saint Laurent to design some accessories to accompany one of his collections. She did it and it was a success. By 1971 she has started working with Zolotas, jewelry company from Greek.
She designed sets for many celebrity and starlets too. Once she designed for playwright and director Rafael Lopez-Cambil and later they got married.
In the year 1980 she started for Tiffany & Co. of New York .She worked with mixed gemstones and bold designs. She had long used dove symbols and used red color as her signatures.
Then Picasso started experimenting with fragrances and created Paloma perfumes for L'Oreal. In the year 2000 she started working on a new direction. Though she preferred bold designs and colors she now choose gray, gold, and tan. Paloma lost interest in designing since her father's death in 1973 .
