He was born in a very poor family from Columbia. He attended to Universidad de Antioquia to study political science but he was forced to renounce because he couldn' pay the taxes.
This was a crucial moment because he started to steal gravestones and sand them for resale. His first job was for a multimillionaire contraband dealer, named Alvaro Prieto. Until he was 22, Pablo Escobar became a millionaire.
In 1975, Pablo Escobar started a cocaine operation into United
States. Soon his plan became bigger because the demand for cocaine in the U.S.A growth. During the ‘80s, Pablo Escobar was elected as a deputy to the Chamber of Representatives in the Columbian Congress, as a part of the Colombian Liberal Party. From here he gained a lot of popularity in the United States and his drug business became much larger.
His cartel, named Medellin, controlled almost all of the drugs that entered in States, Peru, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic. There are rumors that he even got his cartel in the drugs' market from Asia.
