Omar Gooding came from a family of stars, having as a father the singer Cuba Gooding Senior and as an elder brother the actor Cuba Gooding Junior. He is better known from television apparitions including Hanging with Mr. Cooper, Smart Guy, Playmakers or Wild and Crazy Kids.
His most recently act in a television show was in 2005 when he played the role of a barber named Calvin Palmer, Jr. in Barbershop: The Series, which is based on a film from 2002 that had the same name.
In 1995, Omar Gooding was arrested for illegal gun possession and had a sentence of 18 months of probation. He is a
frequent No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em in Las Vegas at the Aladdin Casino. In 2006 he guest starred in an episode from the television series CSI: Miami. Also, he had some apparitions on the sitcom One on One, produced by UPN, where he played the role of a barber in Flex Washington's barber shop.
