Olivier Martinez became known after several roles in French movies. He began his acting career in 1990, when he was 24 years old. He attended and graduated at the well known CNSAD. He quickly achieved success.
In 1994 he won a Cesar Award as the Most Promising Actor for the playing of the character Un, Deux, Trois, Soleil from 1993. He came in the Hollywood's attention when he played in Unfaithful in 2002, along with Diane Lane. In 2003 he had some television apparitions in The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone and in S.W.A.T. In 2004 he appeared in Taking Lives. In 2007 he starred in an adaptation of
a popular book, named Blood and Chocolate. He played here the character of Gabriel.
For now it is announced that he is acting in a forthcoming movie named Knight & Day that will appear in the middle of 2010. Other titles of the movies where he starred are Before Night Falls in 2000, Bullfighter, Semana Santa in 2002, and Taking Lives in 2004.
