Nicolas Massu

Nicolas Massu was born on October 10, 1979 in Vina del Mar, Chile. He is a professional tennis player.
Biography and Career :
He started his tennis career when he was a child, at the age of five, and later, in 1997, turned a professional tennis player. Gabriel Markus is the person who takes care of his training and goes at every tournament, in fact is his coach.
Until now (2007) he has won six ATP single tournaments and one ATP doubles tournaments. Almost four million dollars entered his pockets just from tennis. At the Athens Olympics in 2004 he won two gold medals, one as a single player and one as a doubles player along Fernando Gonzalez.
He has Jewish and Lebanese origins and his parents' anmes are Sonia Fried and Manuel Massu. The single titles were conquered at the
tournaments ion Buenos Aires, Amersfoort, Palermo, Kitzbuhel and Costa do Sauipe against players like Agustín Calleri, Raemon Sluiter, Paul-Henri Mathieu, Gastón Gaudio and Alberto Martin.
Between 2000 and 2007 he lost nine finals, some of the most important in Adelaide, Vina del Mar and Casablanca. In 2005 he reached the second round at the Australian Open. The third round was played at the French Open in 2004 and 2006 and at Wimbledon in 2001.
His best performance at a Grand Slam event was achieved in 2005 at the US Open. He has played in the Davis Cup for his country and his record until now is 26-12. Being a talented player has helped him a lot, but this is not his only advantage. He is a serious person and works a lot too.
