Nicolas Mahut

Nicolas Mahut was born on January 21, 1982 in Angers, France. He is a professional tennis player.
Biography and Career :
In 1999 he won the Orange Bowl and after one year, in 2000, turned a professional tennis player. His coaches and the persons who take care of him are Olivier Soules and Olivier Mancor.
He has won five Challengers as a single player and two ATP doubles tournaments until now (2007). The five Challengers were won between 2003 and 2006 at the tournaments in Manchester on grass, Valladolid on hard, Besancon on hard indoors, Cherbourg also on hard indoors and Kyoto on carpet.
He defeated in the finals players like Gilles Elseneer, Jean-Michel Pequery, Frank Dancevic, Jean-Christophe Faurel and Yen-Hsun Lu. In June 2007 he was a finalist at the Queen's tourna
ment but lost to Andy Roddick, after a match that ended with the score 6-4 6-7 6-7.
After one month he reached another final, this time at Newport where was beaten by Fabrice Santoro. As a single junior player he won the Wimbledon trophy in 2000.
His best performances at the Grand Slam events as a single professional player are: playing into the first round at Roland Garros between 2000 and 2007, into the second round in 2006 at the US Open and in 2007 at the Australian Open and reaching the third round at Wimbledon in 2006.
In 2004 he and Julien Benneteau were one of the semi-finalist teams at the US Open, but unfortunately lost. He is talented and still young and could make a nice figure in the next years.
