Nicolas Almagro

Nicolas Almagro was born on August 21, 1985 in Murcia, Spain. He is a professional tennis player.
Biography and Career :
His coach and the person who takes care of his training is Antonio Gonzalez. He started his tennis career at an early age and in 2003 he became a professional tennis player. At the Australian Open he played in the first round before being eliminated in 2005 and 2006. The same thing was obtained at Wimbledon in 2005 and 2007.
The second round was reached at the French Open in 2005 and 2006 and at the US Open in 2005. He has won two single tournaments and none doubles tournaments until now (2007).
The single titles were conquered at the tournament in Valencia on clay in April 2006 and 2007. His opponents in the finals were Gilles Simon, who lost with the
score 6-2, 6-3 and Potito Starace, who lost with 4-6, 6-2, 6-1.
He had played the final of the tournament in Bastad against David Ferrer and lost it with the score 1-6 2-6. An important victory of his career happened at the tournament in Rome when he beat Marat Safin with the score 6-4 6-3.
He defeated again Marat Safin this time at the Open de Tenis Comunidad Valenciana in 2006 when he won the title there. At the Barcelona Open he played into the semi-final but couldn’t continue with the final because he was beaten by Rafael Nadal.
Roger Federer was the player who eliminated him in the quarter-finals of the tournament in Rome. He is talented but doesn't have consistency. Specialists say he is great but he has still many things to learn.
