Nellie McKay (real name Nell Marie McKay) was born on April 13, 1982 in London, England. She is a British-born American singer-songwriter, actress and former stand-up comedian, noted for her critically-acclaimed debut album Get Away from Me and for her Broadway debut in The Threepenny Opera (2006), for which she won a Theater World Award.

McKay is the daughter of Robin Pappas who is a famous actress. She won a theater World Award. McKay started her career as a singer in 2002. Her first album "Get Away from Me" was released in 2004.
