Neil Jordan began his career as a writer. He got first appreciation for his make NIGHT IN TUNISIA which won "The Guardian Fiction Prize" (1976). After this recognition, Jordan crossed several milestones in his life. One of the most valuable thing is his novels are translated by different persons in different languages. Languages include German, Japanese, Italian, French, Swedish, Dutch and Spanish.
Even though he got several awards he has a desire to film industry. So later in 1982 Jordan wrote and directed his film ANGEL. Film got much appreciation than his novels, and he got another award "The London Evening Standard's Most Promising Newcomer A
ward" to his career. His most remarkable creations include "THE COMPANY OF WOLVES", "MONA LISA", "HIGH SPIRITS", "WE'RE NO ANGELS". Jordan's award winning creation "The Crying Game" beats all previous records. Jordan bagged the highest award for screenplay (OSCAR) and also Best Screenplay by the New York Film Critics Circle and the Writers Guild of America and Best Foreign Film by the Los Angeles Film Critics Association.
Jordan won best director award for the film IN DREAMS in 1999. "Company of Wolves" is the production company started by Jordan along with Stephen Woolley. And they produced the films THE ACTORS (directed by Conor McPherson, starring Michael Caine and Dylan Moran) and INTERMISSION (directed by John Crowley, starring Colin Farrell and Colm Meaney).
