Monica Naranjo

 Q:
Monica NaranjoMonica Naranjo (full name Monica Naranjo Carrasco) was born on May 23, 1974 in Figueras, Catalonia near Cadaques, Spain. She is a Spanish singer. Monica Naranjo height : 5'6"/168 cm.

Biography and Career :

Monica Naranjo is like a bird of prey, hunting for the remains of a love battle, grabbing on to life and leaving behind shreds of obscure life. Desire rises and flows out of her throat, like a stream of sentiments singing to nights of never ending absence. In her parted songs, the desire to give oneself, gives meaning to love but no answers. Traveling along the expanse of abandonment, emptiness, and solitude, Monica Naranjo endures and survives.
Monica Naranjo's idol is Italian singer Mina.

She started singing at a very young age. Cristobal Sansano became her first prod ucer. After signing with Sony Music, Monica Naranjo recorded her debut album Monica Naranjo in 1994, resulting in the hit songs "Sola", "Solo se vive una vez", "El amor coloca" and "Oyeme".

Monica Naranjo received acclamations during a performance at Mexico City's Metropolitan Theater in April 1996. Taking advantage of her popularity, a second album, Palabra de mujer, was issued. The album was a hit, managing to sell more than 2.5 million copies in the United States and Spain, thanks to songs such as "Desatame", "Pantera en libertad", "Las campanas del amor", "Entender el amor" or "Empiezo a recordarte".

She released her third album, Minage, a homage to the great Italian diva Mina, with songs from "Sobrevivire", "If you leave me now" or "Enamorada" in 2000. They were a complete success and her native country became dedicated to Monica. After having achieved widespread acceptance in Europe, Monica Naranjo managed to sing with Pavarotti and Mina herself.

In 2001, Monica Naranjo released Chicas Malas, an album with several collaborations, among them Diane Warren, Gregg Alexander, John Reid, and many more. It was an excessively commercial dance album that did not achieve the succes hoped for. In 2003, as claimed by her fans, Monica Naranjo recorded the English version of "Chicas Malas", "Bad Girls".

After a long musical rest, Monica Naranjo returned with a 'greatest hits' album ("Coleccion Privada"), a big success that only contains one new song, "Enamorada de ti". The single and the album were both smash hits. With this album, Monica Naranjo closes a stage in her life and her career. In December, Monica Naranjo sang with Rocio Jurado "Punto de partida" in her TV homage Rocio... Siempre.
