Mircea Rednic was born on April 9, 1962 in Hunedoara Romania. He is a famous Romanian football player and coach.
Biography and Career :
Mircea Rednic started his football-player career at Corvinul Hunedoara in 1979 in a game against ASA Targu-Mures, ended 4-1 for his team. He was discovered by Mircea Lucescu, who called him and Ioan Andone his sons. He played for Corvinul Hunedoara in 127 games as a right defender and scored 6 times.
In 1982 he was transferred to Dinamo Bucharest where had his best period as a football player. He played for Dinamo 8 seasons in 212 games in First Romanian league and succeeded to score 21 times. He won the champion title for 2 times and for 4 times Dinamo was vice-cham
pion. He also won 3 Romanian Cups with Dinamo. In European Cups he played 40 games and scored 3 times.
In 1992 after a half of season in Turkey at Bursaspor he went in Belgium where he played 5 season for Standard Liege and 1 season for St Truidense VV. He played 150 games in first Belgian league and scored 3 times and in 1993 won the Belgian Cup with Standard.
He came back in Romania in 1997 at Rapid Bucharest and with Mircea Lucescu as coach he won in 1998 the Romanian Cup and in 1999 the champion title after they had lost the championship one year ago in the last match against Universitatea Craiova.
He played in 83 games for Romanian National Team and scored 2 times. His first game was against Switzerland on 11th of November 1981 ended 0-0. He participated at the European championship in France 1984 and at World Cup Mexico 1986 and Italy 1990.
His coaching career started in 2000 at Rapid Bucharest and in that season he succeeded to end on a respectable 4th place. After a half of season at FCM Bacau he came back to Rapid for one and a half season and won the Championship and the Romanian Cup.
In 2003 he left Romania for Saudi Arabia where was the manager of Al Nasr Ryadh but came back in Romania soon at Universitatea Craiova where ended on the 4th place that season. He was resigned from Craiova in the next season and went in the second Romanian league at FC Vaslui.
In 2006 he signed a contrat with Dinamo as a coach and he had the best start in the history of Romanian football because he succeeded to won all starting 12 games in Liga 1.
