Mikhail Youzhny was born on June 25, 1982 in Moscow, Russia. He is a talented tennis player with great consistency in games.
Biography and Career :
He became a professional tennis player in 1999, but he had been playing tennis since he was a child.
Until now (2007) he has won three titles. The first came in 2002 at Stuttgart, where he managed to beat Guillermo Canas in the final of the tournament. The score was tight, but in the end he won with 6-3, 3-6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4. The other two were won in 2004 (at St. Petersburg against Karol Beck) and 2007 (at Rotterdam against Ivan Ljubicic) .
Since 2001 he has been participating at the grand Slam tournaments. At Wimbledon he played the fourth round in 2001, 2002, 2005 and 2007, but every time stopped there. In 2003 it was time
for Australian Open and he stopped again in the fourth round. At the French Open he played into the fourth round, again and lost to Roger Federer. It was happening in 2007.
The only semi-final played at a Grand Slam was in 2006 at the US Open. There he defeated players like Tommy Robredo or Rafael Nadal, but lost to Andy Roddick. As a doubles player he has won three titles until now.
He is young and has many perspectives ahead. He is a fighter and won't quit so soon. He just has to work hard and also have a bit of luck to avoid injuries and everything will be just fine.
