Melora Hardin (full name Melora Diane Hardin) was born on June 29, 1967, in Houston, Texas. She is the daughter of Jerry Hardin, an actor, and Diane Hill Hardin, an acting manager. Being surrounded by a family related closely to the acting industry, her acting career began when she was only 6. At that time she acted for a few advertisements on TV.

In 1977, Melora Hardin acted for the first time in a TV show in "The Cliffwood Avenue Kids". Later on in her teens, she was seen in a number of popular series like "Quincy M.E.", "Diff'rent Strokes" and "The Love Boat".

In 1979, Melora appeared in her debut movie "The North Avenue Irregulars", a Disney production. She took lessons at the New York based Joffery Ballet Schoo l. Since 1980, Melora appeared in a number of shows like "Little House on the Prairie", "Hotel", "Magnum" and "P.I.". She also got a steady spot on the series "Secrets of Midland Heights" in 1980.

For the next few years Melora Hardin appeared in a few movies. In 1985, she acted in "Iron Eagle" and "Papa Was a Preacher" and the next year she appeared in "Soul Man". She also acted in the series "Dirty Dancing" in 1988. But it failed to achieve the desired success and had run for just about a month.
She took to the small screen in the beginning of the 1990s appearing in "The Rocketeer", "Murder", "Quantum Leap", "She Wrote and Matlock". In 1994, she got front line roles in a couple movies, "The Pornographer" and "Reckless Kelly". The next year, she starred in "Chameleon".

In 1995, she appeared in side roles in some shows like "Friends", "Touched by an Angel" and "Diagnosis Murder". In 1997, she appeared in the movies "Absolute Power" and "Tower of Terror", a thriller and a horror movie respectively.
She got married in 1997 to actor Gildart Jackson.

Her next movie was the 1998 comedy "Erasable You" and "Certain Guys" in 2000. She also appeared in guest spots in a number of shows and sung in an episode of "Family Guy". In 2002, she was seen in the movie "The Hot Chick".
Throughout the later years, Melora Hardin acted in series like "Boston Legal", "Navy NCIS" and "Monk". She also appeared in the telefilm "Dynasty: The Making of a Guilty Pleasure" and in "Thank You For Smoking" in 2005. The same year, she acted in the hit show "The Office".

Melora Hardin took professional steps towards her career in music. She released the album "Meloradrama" in 2005. Her next album was released in 2006 named as "Purr".
Apart from continuing her acting in "The Office", Melora acted in a number of shows like "Without A Trace" and "Boxboarders" in 2006. In 2007, she was seen in "The Comebacks" and "The Dukes".
Melora has also started directing with the show "You", written by her husband. She has two children, Roly Melora and Piper Quincy.
