Melissa Coates was born on 18th June 1971 in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. She is a Canadian professional wrestler, fitness model, and professional bodybuilder.
Biography and Career:
Melissa was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Her mother was a nurse and amateur actress and her father is a doctor. She has a elder sister and two elder brother. Coates was a big fan of Martina Navratilova, a tennis player.
At the age of 15, Coates began weightlifting, in order to train effectively for tennis. In 1984, she played her first tennis competition, where she lasted until the finals. In 1985, she won the Mid-Canada Junior Girls Championship. Later, her interest turned towards weight lifting.
In 1990s, she entered lightweight contest and won the overall lightweight categor
y of the Windsor Physique Contest. She graduated in Science from Lakehead University.
She moved to LA and worked for two gyms and two bars to finance herself. In 1995, she received her professional status. In 1996, she won the Jan Tana Classic. In 1999, she started working as a model after retiring from bodybuilding.
She got training from Killer Kowalski's training school and Ultimate Pro Wrestling's Ultimate University. After the training, she moved to Louisville, Kentucky to begin training in World Wrestling Entertainment's (WWE) developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling.
She participated at WWE's Backlash. She was placed in OVW as an official trainee and became the 'head of security' for Kenny Bolin's stable 'Bolin's Services'.
Later she left both WWE and OVW and started working for World Xtreme Wrestling (WXW). She defeated Krissy Vaine in her only match for WXW. She worked for indy circuit later and Coates made her debut for Georgia's Great Championship Wrestling on May 29 and won the NWA/GCW Women's Championship from Daffney Unger.
