Mel Gibson (full name Mel Columcille Gerard Gibson) was born on January 3, 1956 in Peekskill, New York, U.S. He is an American-Australian actor, director, producer and screenwriter.
Biography and Career :
He was born to Hutton Gibson and Irish-born Anne Reilly Gibson and has another six siblings. When he was 12 years old Mel moved with his family to Sydney, Australia after his father won $145,000 from a lawsuit against New York Central Railroad. Gibson got his education from St. Leo's Catholic College in Wahroonga, New South Wales.
He was favored by the critics even from the begining of his acting career and his physical appearance helped Mel in receiving starring roles in many action movies as "Mad Max" and "Lethal Weapon" and not only. He had roles in dramas, comedies and other film genres.
