Mason, 17 years old, was discovered at a public learn to ride event in 2005 and began training for competition with the DSA team and company. Mason is very well known for his playful and gregarious personality. Mason's skill is far beyond his age bracket. He has continuously gained a reputation as the "future king of mountain boarding" as quoted by the sport's founder great Jason Lee. His performances have earned him the title of being the US Open Overall Champion not once but twice in his short career.
His riding skills are of diverse nature and styles. He is adept at including skate par
k riding , big mountain riding , urban riding, boarder cross styles and places a large emphasis on freestyle riding. In his short yet amazing career, he has managed to gather 12 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 1 bronze model across many major events. Back in may 2006, Dirtstar Army Pro Rider Mason Moore was filmed for an ad by the firm Journeys Shoe Store of the USA. After people finally saw it for the first time, many of them personally thought it looked more like an ad for mountain boarding than that of a shoe store ad. But good for the firm is that, it actually made them watch the whole ad two times. It has been a great job by all those involved in the production of the ad.
The commercial shows mountain boarding in a positive light and is going to be shown on television frequently. Although one may speculate that it appear Mason employed a stunt double in some frames, It may not be entirely true because Mason is one rider that does not need help throwing himself down and making the scene look good in the real world many a time. He has done a great job.
