Biography and Career:
Maryse started her career as a model. The first beauty pageant she entered was Miss Hawaiian Tropic Canada in 2003 and she won it. She finished 2nd at The International Finals of Miss Hawaiian Tropic in 2004.
In 2006, WWE launched the WWE Diva Search. Maryse entered the competition but was eliminated fairly early. Then too she didn’t loose hope and she went to WWE developmental facility at Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) in Louisville, Kentucky. The OVW administrators struck a deal with Maryse after some persuasion and sh
e signed the deal in August 2006. She made her first appearance in the ring in December 2006. In order to improve her training she shifted to another WWE facility Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW). On September 25th, 2007 she made her first FCW debut. Maryse participated in single and tag team competitions. She started managing Ted DeBiase Jr in December 2007.
From 2006 to 2009, Maryse appeared in SmackDown! The fame SmackDown provided her turned Maryse attitude into hostile and in 2008 Maryse competed with Victoria, Michelle McCool, Cherry, and Eve Torres in swim suit competition. Maryse and Eve in the end got in a fight.
She got her first title shot against Michelle McCool at Unforgiven on September and on September 23rd she gained a huge victory against Michelle McCool in a non-title match on ECW. Maryse continued to wrestle with other divas regularly and she competed in a Diva’s Battle Royal at Wrestle Mania 25 but lost to Santino Marella. She was drafted to the RAW Brand during the 2009 WWE Draft held last April 13, 2009 making the WWE Divas Championship exclusive to the RAW brand.
Maryse is involved in the Foundation of Children General Hospital of Montreal, Quebec, since 2006 and she has a degree in Business Administration and is martial arts black belter.
On the 2006 summer edition of Playboy magazine she appeared on the cover as well as on the inside pages.
